New Builds and the Economy.

The significance of “New Build Activity” a society that facing economical difficulty

According to an article posted by buildersonline.com, the housing industry experienced an increase in new-home activity during February. The new-build activity plummeted with 20% during October 2008 and as the market attempts to recover, a slight rise in activity can be expected.

Market analysts are warning people against premature optimism. Financial turbulence has had a big effect on the global property market and it might take a while for ‘new build activity’ to gain momentum again. The amount of existing homes that are up for sale still reflects 11.5 times the size of new home inventory. At OBC Builders in Bromley we remain positive because of the social significance of new-build activity.

Some might grow despondent when they hear negative reports concerning the future of new build activity. However, few people consider the social significance of new build and construction activity. Construction activity often signifies cultural prosperity, physical growth and innovation. Large-scale construction projects and building exploits often sooth social consciousness during seasons of financial difficulty.

In the ancient Near East every Pharaoh left behind a Pharaonic legacy. The Pharaoh’s various building exploits and his ability to extend governmental boundaries elevated his reputation the eyes of his people. The amount and magnitude of buildings often reflected the successes and cultural eminence of a society. Many ancient cities boast spectacular buildings and constructions that were completed during times off limited resources and technological mobility.

For many people, buildings and large-scale construction projects illustrate man’s ability to move forward and thrive despite the difficulties experienced during times of recession and resource scarcity. Even small-scale new building projects that are being carried out by smaller construction companies such as OBC Bromley builders can have a positive effect on the neighbourhood and society.

Ethically, you can’t build a society on the back of slaves, as many of those empires did. But irrespective of the ethical flaws in some of the ancient worlds methods and approaches to building and construction, many of those man-made landmarks show us what can be done despite resource scarcity and technological limitation.

Throughout history, construction and new build activity have served as a metaphor for social innovation and mobility. For smaller building and construction companies such as ourselves we are passionate about new builds. At OBC builders in Bromley our objective is to continue with new building activities, taking hold of every opportunity that comes our way.
