By adding synthetic grass, we provided a maintenance-free space which appears green all year round

OBC carefully added special effect painting, which transformed the old red bricked fire place

A wiew of the garden

The space was made slightly larger and squared off, to enable a new sitting space to enjoy the garden

Oak flooring

Oak flooring was laid to give a nice light feel to the room

Timber posts

The Old oak timber posts are still evident but now with a contemporary twist

Barn

Soft lighting housed within a zinc canopy over the doors, gives it a modern look whilst retaining the old elements of this tudor style barn

Railings

We added new metal railings in black, which contrasts nicely with the white brickwork

Completed Kitchen Extension Project – Bromley, London

Kitchen Extension Bromley - Header

We have just completed a kitchen extension project in Bromley, London.

Details

The project included a complete strip out of the existing room, including the suspended sub floor. A new concrete slab was installed to house a wet under-floor heating system.

The old back wall was removed by installing a large steel frame to hold up the existing corner of the house.

Two large low profile flat roof skylights successfully borrows light to flood into the middle of the kitchen area.

A new ground floor shower room and WC was fitted into the space cleverly by extending the hall way and matching in the existing period features of the house to provided a seamless transition into the new space.

Aluminium sliding doors were colour coded to the external zinc facia / down pipes and linear drains for a quality finish.

The kitchen was the icing on the cake. The finished result was a beautiful family room with enough space for entertaining and relaxing.

OBC – Completed Project – Sevenoaks

Completed Project - Sevenoaks

OBC has completed its latest project.

We added a side two storey extension to this lovely cottage in Sevenoaks, which dates back to the 19th Century. OBC also helped install an aluminium glass house in the rear of the property.

The materials used on the side were reclaimed to match it into the old.

More details on this project is available here.

OBC – Current Project – Sevenoaks

OBC are working on a contemporary garden room in Sevenoaks. The building will have a crisp finish with the use of a zinc soffit overhang and smooth hardwood decking it will be a beautiful contrast to the Historic farmer’s cottage that occupies the main plot. The garden room will be fitted with a sump pump system to allow for a wet area including shower, wc and basin allowing the client to use this as temporary accommodation whilst the main house project is carried out.

Main project

This historic cottage dates back to the eighteen hundreds and is full of charm. The red brick and half peg tile hung façade will be sympathetically continued to create a new two storey side extension. At the rear of the property the existing PVC conservatory will be removed and replaced with a larger aluminum glass house. The inclusion of some large steel will allow some internal walls to be removed and allow a much better open plan living and dining space.
